À partir de photographies personnelles de voyages et de recherches de terrain, prolongées par le photomontage, l’image numérique et l’intelligence artificielle, José Man Lius compose des environnements hybrides. Végétation, minéraux, animaux, architectures, dispositifs techniques et présences humaines y forment un même paysage, traversé par des relations d’interdépendance et de transformation.

Musées, galeries, espaces commerciaux et territoires artificialisés deviennent les scènes d’une utopie inversée. Le vivant s’y manifeste par l’apparition, l’infiltration, l’adaptation et la métamorphose, jusqu’à transformer l’architecture elle-même en milieu.
Nourri par une approche mésologique, le projet envisage le paysage comme une construction relationnelle, façonnée conjointement par les êtres, les matières, les techniques et les territoires. L’architecture devient poreuse ; les frontières entre nature et culture se transforment en zones de contact ; l’humain prend place au sein d’un réseau plus vaste d’interdépendances.

PAYSAGE CULTUREL fait ainsi du paysage un espace de négociation entre vivant, artifice et territoire — une invitation à imaginer d’autres formes de coexistence et à habiter un monde devenu hybride.
CULTURAL LANDSCAPE explores the transformation of the ways we inhabit the world through fictionalized landscapes in which living systems, architecture, and the artificial reshape their relationships and forms of coexistence.

Drawing on personal photographs from travels and field research, extended through photomontage, digital imagery, and artificial intelligence, José Man Lius creates hybrid environments. Vegetation, water, animals, architecture, technological systems, and human presence form a shared landscape, shaped by relationships of interdependence and transformation.

Museums, galleries, commercial spaces, and human-altered territories become the settings for an inverted utopia. The living world emerges through appearance, infiltration, adaptation, and metamorphosis, gradually transforming architecture itself into a milieu.
Informed by a mesological approach, the project considers landscape as a relational construct, jointly shaped by living beings, matter, technologies, and territories. Architecture becomes porous; boundaries between nature and culture evolve into zones of contact; and the human takes its place within a broader network of interdependencies.
